Welcome to my Blog!
A Special Award
Sometimes something wonderful comes along when you least expect it and starts a chain reaction of amazing events! Earlier this year I joined an amazing female running club called Solemother which is a group of supportive women in my area that get together to stay active, safe and social and it’s literally changed my life.
Alopecia UK Event
At the end of September I had the pleasure of attending the Alopecia UK’s Big Weekend in Bristol. Alopecia UK are a national charity in the UK that supports people in the UK with Alopecia. They hold a special event every year that brings people with the disease together from all over the world for a weekend of education, support and entertainment.
Happy Place Festival
I was thrilled to run a ‘Wonderful Me’ workshop at Fearne Cotton’s Happy Place Festival at Tatton Park on the 8th September. I enjoy listening to Fearne’s podcast and reading her books so I loved the idea of a festival aimed at health and well-being where like-minded people could come together.
Empowering Girls
Over the summer I was pleased to have the opportunity to work with The Guides on a number of occasions. I remember teenage years being a very confusing and challenging time and research has shown that teenagers can suffer with low self-esteem as they are going through so many changes physically and mentally during this stage.
Halloween Workshop
We had a super spooky time at The Teacup Doodles Halloween workshop this month. I’m a bit of a fan of Halloween because I love the excuse to get dressed up. I wanted to create a fun, party atmosphere for the children so I decorated the room in advance with Halloween themed decorations and balloons.
Doodling For Bone Cancer
I attended a fundraising event over the summer to raise money for Bone Cancer Research in memory of a special boy who my son went to primary school with. Jude Anderton sadly lost his battle with bone cancer when he was just 11 years old and since his death his friends and family have raised over £150,000. You can read more about his story here on the Bone Cancer Research website.
The Doodle Hub
What a strange time we now find ourselves in! The arrival of the Covid-19 pandemic means we find ourselves separated from our loved ones and unable to attend social events. My heart goes out to anyone effected by this terrible virus. I’ve been amazed by the fantastic efforts of our NHS heroes and all the other key workers keeping the UK going at the moment.
Teacup Doodles Is 3
Hooray Teacup Doodles is 3! I can honestly say that when I picked up my pencil and doodle pad three years ago, I didn’t know where I was going or what I wanted to achieve. It started with a desire to put creativity back into my life and spread joy but it very quickly became a real passion.
Christmas Workshop
What fabulous festive fun we had at the Christmas Doodle Bunting workshop! I hosted three sessions just before Christmas with some truly gorgeous children full of joy and enthusiasm for Christmas and creativity. I wanted a fun and festive vibe so I decorated the room with Christmas decorations and made sure the carols were playing when the excited doodlers arrived.
My BBC Radio Interview
I was thrilled to be invited onto BBC Radio Manchester this month as a guest on ‘The Dead Good Show’ which celebrates people doing good in the community. I was invited to talk about my well-being workshops and using my experience of Alopecia in a positive way to help others.
