Teacup Doodles Is 3

Hooray Teacup Doodles is 3! I can honestly say that when I picked up my pencil and doodle pad three years ago, I didn’t know where I was going or what I wanted to achieve.  It started with a desire to put creativity back into my life and spread joy but it very quickly became a real passion.

I love creating something that brings colour to people’s lives.  It brings me a lot of pleasure to look back at all the families I have worked with and the many celebrations and precious moments I have had the honour to be part of.  It still makes me smile every time I get a message to let me know how one of my doodles has made someone feel happy, loved and appreciated.

Business birthdays are a great opportunity to take a moment to reflect and look back and see how far you’ve come.  Sometimes when you’re just focusing on the day to day, you don’t realise what amazing things you’ve achieved and the many goals you have smashed your way through without even realising.

At the beginning of last year, I had just started running children’s art workshops which realised my lifelong dream of working with children and it has brought me SO much joy.  Working for yourself can be a bit lonely at times, so having the opportunity to get out into the community, meet new people and sprinkle doodle magic around has been amazing.

Doodle Club has grown and grown and we now have a gorgeous group of children that regularly attend my sessions. They are such a lovely bunch and never fail to make me smile and fuel my desire to use creativity as a force for joy, positivity and well-being. I believe that creativity is more important to children now than ever before. In a world where children as young as six are having smart phones, taking time out for a mindful, creative activity can be hugely beneficial to well-being.

Being part of a community is very important to me. I value human connection, appreciate the vibrancy of the town where I live and enjoy playing a part in adding joy and colour whenever I can. There are so many other independent business owners in Urmston adding to that colourful picture and this was the inspiration behind my community art project ‘Illustrating Urmston’ which also launched this year. I’ve been doodling some of my favourite business owners that add colour to our high street and I’m thrilled to say that the lovely Fred at Kelder has offered to host an exhibition of the artwork this year so watch this space for more details!

This year I also started running ‘Wonderful Me’ workshops with the aim of using creativity to enhance positive mental health and well-being. I’ve been providing non-profit sessions for children and adults alike and the response has been AMAZING! I love helping to boost children’s self-esteem and help them to believe in themselves.

Before I go, I just want to say a massive THANK YOU to every one of you that supports my business in some way; ordering artwork, booking workshops, sharing my content, recommending to friends and family, liking or commenting on posts and subscribing to my newsletter….I couldn’t continue spreading such joy and colour without YOUR help.  You are part of this journey and I love having you with me. Who knows where the next year will take us!

Love Toria xxx
